CorrosionGard™ Series

High-performance CorrosionGard Coating in California for Industrial Corrosion Protection

Product Description

CorrosionGard™ is a dual-component protection system developed to safeguard structural steel and process equipment operating in aggressive industrial and marine environments. Designed for installations in California and worldwide, this corrosion-resistant coating cures at ambient temperature to form a dense thermoset barrier that resists chemical attack, airborne contamination, and particulate abrasion.

The formulation combines long-term chemical resistance with mechanical durability, performing reliably in service conditions up to 160 °C (320 °F). CorrosionGard™ provides dependable protection for equipment subjected to mixed chemical and thermal stress, extending maintenance cycles and preserving substrate integrity across heavy-industry operations.

Applications

CorrosionGard™ is intended for both internal and external steel surfaces where humidity, chemical vapors, and particulate exposure threaten coating life. Typical applications include:

  • Steel structures and vessels in cement and lime plants, metal smelters, and waste-to-energy facilities

  • Process ducts, tanks, and filters in power generation and refinery environments

  • Storage and containment equipment for corrosive liquids or gases

  • Pollution-control housings and stacks exposed to acidic condensation and mechanical erosion

Each installation is engineered to match the facility’s temperature range, substrate condition, and downtime limits, ensuring consistent performance from this industrial corrosion protection coating.

Benefits Across Industries

Cement & Lime Production

  • Resists alkaline dust and acid condensate on shell and duct surfaces. Protects steel interfaces beneath refractory linings and minimizes corrosion that leads to shell deformation and refractory loss.

Power Generation & Refining

  • Provides barrier protection on boilers, filters, and heat-recovery units affected by cyclic heating and moisture. Reduces corrosion under insulation and maintains coating integrity in humid, chemically active gas paths.

Battery Recycling & Pollution Control

  • Defends structural steel against sulfuric and hydrochloric vapor attack. Retains film stability through repeated start-up and shutdown cycles in mixed-fuel or high-moisture exhaust systems.

KilnGard™ serves as a reliable industrial anti-corrosion coating for kilns and high-temperature steel surfaces, tailored for long-term performance in varied industrial environments.

Performance

CorrosionGard™ performs exceptionally in areas where airborne salts and fine particulates hinder perfect surface preparation. These contaminants, when trapped beneath ordinary coatings, draw moisture by osmosis and create blisters that fracture and delaminate. CorrosionGard’s dense thermoset matrix isolates such contaminants, preventing osmotic swelling and maintaining adhesion even under fluctuating humidity or temperature.

The system’s impermeable structure resists penetration by water, acids, and alkalis. Its strong bond to steel and flexibility under thermal movement prevent cracking or edge lifting, ensuring long service life in chemically aggressive or coastal conditions. The coating has been validated through long-term use on process vessels, stacks, and support steel in multiple industrial sectors.

Material Composition and Protective Mechanism

CorrosionGard™ derives its resistance from a hybrid network of polymer, alloy, and ceramic components. The ceramic phase establishes a fine, continuous lattice that blocks molecular diffusion of moisture and ions. The alloy component strengthens the matrix and enhances thermal conductivity, dissipating localized heat without loss of adhesion. The polymer phase provides cohesive elasticity, enabling the film to absorb mechanical vibration and minor substrate flexing without fracture.

This combination yields a coating that remains dimensionally stable and chemically inert through extended exposure to acids, alkalis, and solvent vapors. By isolating the steel surface from electrolytic contact and controlling surface energy, CorrosionGard™ suppresses both uniform and pitting corrosion mechanisms common in industrial process atmospheres.

Installation

CorrosionGard™ is supplied as a two-component formulation mixed immediately before application. The coating may be applied by airless spray, roller, or brush to a clean, dry, sand-blasted surface prepared to the required standard.

  • Pot life: approximately 1.5 hours at room temperature

  • Initial cure: 12 – 24 hours to a hard, inspectable film

  • Dry-film thickness: ~25 mils (coverage ≈ 50 ft² / gal)

  • Application temperature range: 10 °C – 50 °C (50 °F – 122 °F)

  • VOC content: 0 % (zero-VOC formulation)

  • Equipment cleaning: toluene, xylene, or denatured alcohol

After curing, film thickness and surface continuity should be inspected. Any localized defects can be repaired using the same system.
